• What does Soleil tell me about today’s UV?

  Soleil shows the live UV index for your location, its category, today’s peak and the hourly curve using Apple WeatherKit. Your Fitzpatrick skin type and SPF turn that into a timely protection check. It deliberately does not present a countdown as a safe amount of time outside - shade, water, altitude and reflection all matter too.

• How do I set my skin type?

  During onboarding you can answer a few questions, use the camera scan, or pick your Fitzpatrick type directly. The optional AI-assisted scan sends one photo through a secure proxy purely to estimate skin tone - or you can keep everything on-device. You can change your skin type any time in the You tab.

• How do family profiles work?

  Family profiles are part of Soleil Pro. Add the people you look after in the You tab, then choose who is outside when you start the Sun timer. Each person keeps their own skin type and sunscreen record, and Soleil runs a reapply reminder for each of them. Pro also adds family history and the Family status widget. Family data stays on your devices and in your own private iCloud - nothing is shared with us. Your own sun safety is always free.

• What do I need for the Apple Watch features?

  The free Watch app works on watchOS with a paired iPhone, showing UV, sunscreen state and daylight, with haptic reapply nudges and complications. The Real Sun daylight story uses Apple’s Time in Daylight, which needs an Apple Watch SE (2nd gen), Series 6 or later, or any Ultra.

• Does reapplying sunscreen reset my sun exposure?

  No - and that’s deliberate. Reapplying renews your protection going forward, but the UV your skin has already received today stays counted. Soleil tracks both separately, so your daily total is always honest.

• What’s in Soleil Pro, and what does it cost?

  Free covers your own sun, every day: live UV and today’s conditions, the Sun timer and reminders, the Live Activity, the Apple Watch app, widgets, your skin profile (including an AI skin scan) and every session you record. Pro adds guided Daily Glow sessions and the routine editor, family profiles and outings with a reminder for each person, family history and the Family status widget, Real Sun (Time in Daylight), monthly trends, the calendar heatmap, Sun Journey and AI skin re-scans. It’s $2.49/week, $29.99/year with a 3-day free trial, or $79.99 once for lifetime. Prices can vary by country - Apple shows yours before you buy.

• How do I cancel a Pro subscription?

  Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, find Soleil and tap Cancel. You’ll keep Pro access until the end of the current billing period.

• Can I get a refund?

  Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find the Soleil purchase and request a refund.

• Is Soleil medical advice?

  No. Soleil is wellness guidance built on published UV science, and it errs on the side of caution - but it can’t see your skin. If you have sensitive skin, a history of skin cancer, or a diagnosed condition, please follow your dermatologist’s plan first.

• I’ve found a bug. What do I do?

  Email support@getsoleilapp.com with a short description of what you were doing, what you expected and what actually happened. A screenshot helps a lot.
